The youths of Umuabi, a community in Udi local government area, Enugu State has donated some educational items to some schools in their community in their ‘back to school’ campaign.

The organisation said this is one of their ways of encouraging their young ones to be dedicated to their studies and make the best out of it.

The Igwe-elect of Amaji Umuabi, HRH, Igwe Dr. Cyril Aguogbuo and the parish priest of Holy Family Catholic Church were present during the flagging off of the programme held at Community primary school Enugu-Amaji Umuabi, on 15th October, 2021.

In his remark, Igwe Aguogbuo thanked the youths for the wonderful initiative while promising to always be there to support and direct them as a father.

He also applauded the youths for going the extra mile of providing the resources among themselves irrespective of the harsh economic situation of the country and not relying on any stakeholder to raise the fund for them.

The Head of Admin of the organisation, Ogbata Kingsley assured the community that this is just the beginning of the good things that the youths will be bringing in the community as they’re determined to do better in the coming years.

Ogbata said they wish to make positive impact on the youth development and encourage the students and help them realise that Education is the bedrock of every society.

Some of the items donated to each of the six schools include; dozens of exercise books, packets of chalks, packs of pen and pencils, cartoons of biscuits for the pupils and footballs.

The teachers weren’t left out as the organisation made provision for entertainment for them as a means of saying thank you for the enormous job they’re doing.

Highpoint of the event was the pledge of N30, 000 donation every term to Premier Primary school by Ude Uchenna, payment for the textbook and PTA levies for 6 pupils by Comr. Agu Chielozona.

Also, the fees of the brightest pupil in Community Primary School, Enugu-Amaji was paid by Comr. Ike Austin.
