Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has appealed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to partner with the Federal Government in expanding access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children across the country.
Mrs. Tinubu said the proposed collaboration would help integrate formal education into the existing Almajiri system, allowing pupils to receive Western education alongside Arabic and Islamic studies.
She noted that the approach would equip the children with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to national development while preserving their religious and cultural values.
The First Lady stressed that addressing the challenge of out-of-school children requires strong international partnerships and sustained investment in education.
She expressed optimism that a partnership with Saudi Arabia would strengthen ongoing efforts to provide inclusive learning opportunities for vulnerable children and improve educational outcomes across Nigeria.
The First Lady reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to policies and programmes that promote education for every child, adding that investing in the future of young Nigerians remains central to achieving sustainable national growth and reducing poverty through education.
