The crisis rocking the Imo State House of Assembly has taken a new turn as the Lawmakers have impeached their Speaker, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem.
JOURNALIST101 recalls that on November 2nd, 2021, Rt Hon Amarachi Iwuanyanwu the deputy speaker of Imo state House of Assembly was Impeached.
JOURNALIST101 gathered that the ousted Mr Iwuanyanwu is being fingered in leading the plot that removed his Boss whom he said aided his own removal on Tuesday last week.
Iwuanyanwu reportedly stormed the chamber early Monday morning and got his colleagues to effect the removal of his former principal. About 19 out of the 27 members of the house endorsed the removal of the speaker.
The impeached Speaker has been replaced with Kennedy Ibe.
This development comes barely two weeks after 8 out of 24 Lawmakers in the Plateau State House of Assembly impeached its Speaker, Abok Ayuba.
