The president, Enugu State Female Comrades, Goodness, has said that empowering women is empowering humanity Comr Goodness

Happy Women’s Day to all.

Today, we are celebrating the International Women’s Day. I am extremely glad giving this address on this International Women’s Day.

The International Women’s Day is celebrated every year globally on 8th of March. It sheds light on the great achievement of women in various fields. Empowering Women is a big responsibility of this current society. It is necessary for gender equality and social dignity.

In the olden days, women were confined to the home and were not allowed to step out of the house for work. But today’s society have seen a lot of changes. Today, woman have started realising their strength. They are contributing to the success of their home and entire society. Modern women are no longer dependent. She is strong and self confident. We should respect each of them not because of gender but because of their own identity. We must agree that both women and men contribute to the development of their home and community.

You can see women reaching greater heights and even travelling to the space. They are entering into all fields and making success everywhere they go. We should be inspired by these women. We secured a space in WTO as Director General, a space in the second most exalted office in Enugu State. The likes of Princess Nneka Edith Okoro, Hon Mrs Jane Eneh, Dr Nkiru Kizor-Akaraiwe, Justice Njozi Emehelu, Amb Justina Ezeh, Hon Barr. Nkechi Ugwuojo, making tremendous impact in their sphere.

Women are the real architect of the society. They build not only themselves but a whole community yet history fail the women many a time to represent what a woman can be. Unfortunately, women do not have any identity of their own. They are always recognized as someone’s daughter, someone’s sister and someone’s wife. Violence against women and girls is a global pandemic. One out if three women world wide have experienced physical violence, sexual violence or both. At least, 200million girls and women have undergone Female Genital mutilation.

So what is my International Women’s Day breaking the bias message?

A world free of bias means that we can reach the higher levels of a diverse equal world by connecting with each other.

Let us therefore recognize the importance of women in our lives and to the society and motivate them for greater future achievements.

Let us show appreciation, respect and love to all the incredible women in our lives. Let us show that we are proud of their efforts and pledge to create a world where women do not have to face any affliction.

Break the bias today.
Happy International Women’s Day!

Thank you.

Dr Goodness Nwabueze
Enugu State Female Comrades President
