The family of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to the Crises as regards who is currently the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Reports had it that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the group was removed and replaced with one Mrs. Sofia Chinyere Kalu, who is said to be the group’s financial secretary.

In a tweet by the younger brother to Nnamdi Kanu, Kingsley Kanunta Kanu, described Nnamdi Kanu as the only leader of the group.

He wrote: “#MaziNnamdiKanu is the ONLY leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).

“We should learn to address issues and not to create one because we’ve lost men in this struggle, and we are still losing men.

“A butterfly can never call itself a bird. Biafra is a spirit.”

Ezeji Chukwuma, a separatist who manages IPOB and Radio Biafra Community Interest Companies (CIC) Registry in London, UK, had said Mrs Sofia Kalu is the new Director of IPOB worldwide.

But IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, contradicted claims of Kanu’s removal, referring to it as mere gossip.
