Hadiza Bala Usman

Former Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala Usman has returned to the trenches lamenting the spate of security crises in Nigeria.

Hadiza made the comment in commemoration of 8 years after the abduction of some school girls at Chibok, Borno State by Boko Haram terrorists.

Hadiza who observed table manners when other abductions of students happened in Kaduna, Zamfara and Nasarawa states said the security situation needs to be “decisively addressed”.

“It is 8 years today since 276 girls were abducted in Chibok Secondary School, 109 still remain in captivity. Many more girls, boys and indeed citizens of all ages have been abducted from schools, communities and while enroute on journeys.

“This continued spate of insecurity in the country needs to be DECISIVELY addressed.

“We can’t go on like this…Rescue our citizens and Secure our country, that’s all we ask,” she said in series of tweets on Thursday.

Usman, became popular because of her role in the #BringBackOurGirls movement,  where she served as co-ordinator.

However, after her appointment into the juicy position, the activist went cold and never participated in the activities of the movement.

She seems to be finding her foot on matters of national importance again after she was shown the door on allegations of fraud and financial misappropriation during her time as the MD of Nigeria Ports Authority.
