The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is maintaining their early lead in the ongoing governorship election in Enugu State.
The ruling party in the state has Swept Aninri and Udi local government areas while their main challenger, the Labour Party took Igboetiti.
In Aninri Local Government Area, PDP won with 6520 votes while Labour Party trailed with 3431 votes. The All Progressives Congress, APC came a distant 3rd with 906 while APGA trailed with 498 votes.
The story was the same in Udi for the PDP as they won the local government of former Governor Sullivan Chime with 13,633 votes while Labour Party followed with 10109 votes.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, came third with 1724 votes while All Progressives Congress, APC, came 4th with 1648 votes.
However, Igboetiti local government went the way of the Labour Party as they won the council with 11941 votes while PDP trialed with 8959 votes.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA came 3rd with 1259 votes while APC polled 939 votes.
With the results announced so far, the PDP has won in Uzo-Uwani, Ezeagu, Aninri and Udi LGAs while the Labour Party has recorded victory in Igboeze North, Oji-River and Igboetiti.
