A 34-year-old man named Mr. Chukwudi Okoye has been taken into custody on orders from the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

A video making rounds on social media shows Okoye, a native of Enugwu-Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area, admitting that the event took place in Amanuke, Awka North Local Government, where he lives.

It has been reported that the young girl was hastily taken to the Emergency Ward at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Amaku Awka because of medical issues purportedly associated with the incident.

In the video, Okoye confessed to touching and sexually assaulting the girl but claimed he did not commit full penetration. He stated that the child, who is related to a family friend of his, had come to see him to invite him to her graduation ceremony.

He recounted, “I requested her assistance with washing dishes in the kitchen. Once she was done, she reclined on my bed, continuing to urge me to prepare for graduation.” “In that instant, something overcame me, and I began to undress her; however, I did not engage in penetration.”

Initially denying any penetration, Okoye later admitted to it but claimed it wasn’t “full penetration” due to the girl’s young age.

“A week following the incident, her mother confronted me about her daughter’s report and also the health issues the girl had developed,” he stated. I explained the situation, emphasizing that I didn’t completely penetrate because she is still very young.

It is reported that Okoye is studying to be a clergyman in the Anglican Church.
