The family of the late Nigerian gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi, widely known as Aduke Gold, has finally addressed the swirling speculation surrounding her untimely death.
In the aftermath of a viral video that fueled rumors about a fibroid surgery leading to her demise, the music community has been enveloped in grief and confusion. Fans and fellow artists have taken to social media, expressing their shock and sorrow over the sudden loss of the beloved singer.
In a video, Aduke Gold’s brother, Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, set the record straight, revealing that she passed away at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan on Monday, August 12, 2024.
He disclosed the heartbreaking truth: Aduke valiantly battled cervical cancer before her passing, and he implored others to cease spreading unfounded rumors.
“Whoever is saying things that aren’t true should stop,” he urged. “Our daughter was sick; she had cervical cancer. She was taken to UCH in Ibadan, and tragically, she passed away. The information circulating is simply false. Those claiming she died from fibroid surgery need to stop. Our daughter was ill, and to the glory of God, she found peace on August 12th. It’s always best to seek information from reliable sources.”
