A coalition of non-indigenous residents in Abia State, predominantly Yoruba from the Southwest, along with members from Kogi and Kwara, has expressed their appreciation for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents the Abia North Senatorial District, in recognition of his strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement co-signed by Prince Emmanuel Kayode Olumide and Mrs. Oluwayemisi Olufunke Olaniran, the group praised Kalu’s “steadfast friendship with President Tinubu,” emphasising that it “demonstrates true Nigerian unity—beyond tribe or region. He has shown that patriotism means standing with capable leadership to move our nation forward.”
They expressed gratitude towards Senator Kalu for “opening doors for the Yoruba community in Abia,” noting that by appointing members of their community as personal staff and aides, he has proven to value “talent and commitment above all else.”
The statement also extended appreciation to President Tinubu: “We also express our profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary economic reforms and commitment to youth empowerment—policies that are already creating real opportunities for our people here in Abia.”
Senator Kalu was described as “a detribalised Nigerian whose vision for inclusivity sets a powerful example for political leaders everywhere,” and the group commended President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As we look ahead to the 2027 elections, we wholeheartedly pledge our support to both Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We believe in Senator Kalu’s track record—especially the dozens of schools he is building across Abia North, which are transforming lives and expanding access to education. His empowerment initiatives have lifted many families out of poverty and equipped our youth with the skills they need to succeed.
“Equally, we stand with President Tinubu’s vision for a modern Nigeria—one rooted in economic opportunity, security, and national unity. Together with Senator Kalu, we are confident they will continue to deliver tangible progress for our community and the nation at large. In 2027, you will have our votes, our voices, and our commitment.”
