“Tomorrow is Here” vision gains traction as Mayor Beloved-Dan delivers on electricity, healthcare, and grassroots development
From Ibagwa/Edem Ward through Trans Ekulu to Mbulu Judo West, the people of Enugu East Local Government Area witnessed a series of community-transforming events as the state government commissioned new electrification projects and laid the foundation for a Type 1 Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC).
The activities are in line with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s “Tomorrow Is Here” development blueprint, and they were led by Engr. Pastor Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA.
A Day of Joy Across Communities
In Aguoja, a peri-urban area linking Edem Nike and Ibagwa, community members celebrated the commissioning of a 500KVA transformer. Balloons and cheers filled the air as residents, including elders and children, gathered to receive the Governor’s representative, Chief Barr. Nana Ogbodo, Chairman of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission, and other dignitaries.
The transformer is expected to boost electricity supply not only in Aguoja but also in surrounding layouts within the Enugu East council headquarters.
Community Gratitude and Promises Fulfilled
The community chairman of Aguoja expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. What you have done for us shows that you are a man of God. We say thank you, and your second term is assured.”
Mayor Beloved-Dan: “We’re Matching the Governor’s Pace”
Engr. Pastor Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, in his address, provided background on the rural electrification initiative:
“Upon assuming office, we met with community leaders to identify urgent needs. From that engagement, we resolved to procure 12 new 500KVA transformers, while also energizing three others already owned by communities but yet to be activated. We are working to match the Governor’s scale—he’s executing over 1,000 projects statewide.”
He stressed the importance of tackling micro-level issues at the grassroots to complement the Governor’s macro-vision for Enugu State.
Nana Ogbodo: “Beloved-Dan Embodies ‘Tomorrow Is Here’”
Representing Governor Mbah, Chief Nana Ogbodo praised the Mayor of Enugu East:
“Governor Mbah always says: we can’t keep waiting on the federal government. If subnationals do their part, expectations will shift. Beloved-Dan understands the ‘Tomorrow Is Here’ mantra. It means what you want to do tomorrow, you start doing today. I’m not mistaken in calling him Mr. Project.”
He emphasized the Governor’s belief in early, bold action, adding:
“If all 17 LGAs worked like this, Enugu would be developed in no time.”
Second Transformer Commissioned in Ugboenyi, Trans Ekulu
The next stop was Ugboenyi community in Trans Ekulu, where another 500KVA transformer was commissioned—fulfilling a 2024 campaign promise.
Hon. Chiedozie Samson, Councillor of Trans Ekulu Ward, recalled:
“During the campaign, the people of Ugboenyi appealed for this transformer, and the then Chairmanship candidate, now Mayor, vowed it would be delivered. He has fulfilled his word.”
A local women’s leader, Mrs. Ajah, also expressed appreciation and prayed for divine guidance upon the Chairman.

The facility is scheduled for completion and commissioning in three months.
Mayor Beloved-Dan reassured residents:

Power and Healthcare: Twin Pillars of Development
During the Ugboenyi commissioning, Chief Nana Ogbodo emphasized how infrastructure supports the Governor’s ambition to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.
