The naira at the end of trading on Thursday, May 15, 2025, continued its positive rally against the United States dollars.
According to the data published on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official website, the naira exchanged at N1,599.3294 per dollar on the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
Though this is a depreciation when compared to the value on Wednesday— N1,596.7000 per dollar, it is a positive signal when compared to the value last week when the local currency dipped to N1,609.6357 per dollar at the official market
The story was also positive at the parallel foreign exchange market as the Nigerian currency recorded its first appreciation against the dollar this week.
Bureau de Change operators in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, said the naira strengthened to N1625 per dollar on Thursday from N1635 exchanged on Wednesday.
