The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State and the people of Aninri Local Government Area have been thrown into mourning following the death of Chief Hon. (Sir) Benneth O. Ajah, popularly known as Nnanyereugo 1 of Okpanku.
According to a public notice released by the family, Chief Ajah passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
Until his death, he served as the Enugu State Youth Leader of the PDP and was the immediate past Chairman of Aninri Local Government Area.
The family announced that “funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, condolence registers have been opened at his residences in Enugu and Port Harcourt.
“May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord,” the notice, signed by Mr. Sampson C. Ajah on behalf of the family, stated.
