The arrests were carried out by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) based in Awkuzu. Acting on information obtained from a detained armed suspect, the police raided a location at Agukwu-Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area, where they arrested the trio.

During the operation, the officers recovered one automatic pump action gun and several items suspected to have been stolen from previous victims. These include:

  • A white Mercedes Benz C300 4matic with registration number KWC 140,
  • An ash Lexus 350 car with registration number 669 CY,
  • And two exotic mobile phones.

“The operatives have expanded investigations and emplaced every necessary measure to arrest other gang members that are currently at large,” SP Ikenga stated.

He emphasized that the breakthrough demonstrates the command’s commitment to proactive policing and its unwavering effort to dismantle criminal networks operating in the state.

“This development highlights the Command’s proactive approach to potentially disrupting all criminal networks in the state,” Ikenga said.

He assured the public that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the remaining suspects are tracked and brought to justice.

The Anambra State Police Command urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to support security efforts by providing timely and credible information.
