Senate Minority Whip and Senator representing Enugu West, Osita Ngwu, has approved the appointment of Dr. (Barr.) Destiny Chukwudi Nnagbo as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Legal Matters, effective October 2025.
The appointment was officially conveyed in a letter signed by Hon. Emeka Aneke, Chief of Staff to the Senate Minority Whip, dated October 13, 2025.
“It is my pleasure to inform you that the Senate Minority Whip and Senator for Enugu West, Sen. Osita Ngwu, has approved your appointment as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Legal Matters, effective October 2025,” the letter read.
“It is the wish of the Distinguished Senator that you leverage your professional experience and integrity in the discharge of this important assignment.”
Dr. Destiny Chukwudi Nnagbo, born on December 23, 1981, hails from Umuewo, Isigwu Village, Agba Umana in Ezeagu South Local Government Area of Enugu State. A lawyer by profession, he is the sixth child in a family of eight and rose through humble beginnings marked by resilience, hard work, and faith in God.
His educational journey began at Abakpa-Nike Primary School, followed by Community High School, Umumba Ndiagu, where he completed his secondary education in 2000. He proceeded to the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, earning his LL.B, and later attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus, where he obtained his B.L. in 2008, qualifying him as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Since then, Dr. Nnagbo, popularly known as Mmirioma Ezeagu has been in active private legal practice, handling cases in property, corporate, and family law, and serving as legal retainer for several organizations and individuals. His quest for self-improvement saw him earn a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Arts Management & Professional in 2021, as well as an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from Prowess University (USA).
Dr. Nnagbo is a committed member of the Nigerian Bar Association (Anaocha Branch), where he has served as Young Lawyers Chairman and Vice Chairman. He also chaired and held key positions in several legal committees, including the Disciplinary/Human Rights Committee and the Bar Center Building Project Committee, which delivered the Barr. Charles Ononiwu Obegolu Bar Center in Neni, Anambra State.
Politically, Dr. Nnagbo has been an active member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). His roles include serving on the 2017 PDP National Convention Screening Sub-committee, being part of the South East Presidential Campaign Council in 2019, and acting as Returning Officer in key local government elections. He also participated as a National Delegate during the last Anambra governorship election.
He played a pivotal role in the 2023 general election as Agba Umana ward collection agent for the PDP, contributing to the victory of Senator Osita Ngwu and the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Beyond law and politics, Dr. Nnagbo is a family man, married to Mrs. Chinyere Immaculate Nnagbo, and blessed with five children. He runs the Dr. Destiny Chukwudi Nnagbo Law Firm, with a team of seven lawyers, and serves as President/CEO of the Mmirioma Foundation.
He is passionate about advocacy, swimming, political discourse, reading, and travelling.
With this new appointment, Senator Ngwu expressed confidence in Dr. Nnagbo’s capacity to bring his legal expertise and integrity to bear in advancing legislative goals.

Dr. Nnagbo, known for his resilience and commitment, is expected to play a strategic advisory role in legal and legislative matters.
