The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested one Innocent Chukwuma in Oyigbo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after he allegedly used his social media platform call for military Coup, inciting the Nigerian military to overthrow the current government.
According to security sources, Chukwuma, who operates on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @TheAgroman, made several inflammatory posts calling for a coup d’état and urging soldiers to “suspend the Nigerian government.”
In one of his now-deleted posts, Chukwuma wrote:
“A coup in Nigeria is needed. Dispose of APC, suspend the Nigerian Government, and join the AES. That is all we need now.
“It will happen eventually. Nigerians, the military needs your support now! Only them can save this country.
“The bastard in Aso Rock has basically sold this country to the West, and they run our intelligence apparatus. Only the military can reset this country. Support them.”
Sources within the DSS confirmed that the suspect was tracked to his residence in Oyigbo and apprehended following intelligence analysis of his online activities. The source added that Chukwuma is currently cooperating with investigators and has made useful statements regarding his posts.
Meanwhile, the arrest has sparked sharp reactions across social media, with many users accusing the DSS of selective justice. Some critics resurfaced an old tweet allegedly made by D. Olusegun, a current Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu, where he had once made similar comments advocating for a military takeover.

While the DSS has yet to issue an official statement, security analysts have cautioned that the agency’s swift action underscores the government’s zero tolerance for any form of incitement or subversion against Nigeria’s democratic order.

When the said Chukwuma become the commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed forces. This government should focus more in bettering the living conditions of the ordinary Nigerian. The DSS should the citizens that are expressing their frustrations. Enough of this suppression.
