The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has honoured the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu, with its Life Reputation Award in recognition of his contributions to strategic communication, professional excellence and reputation management in public service.
The award was presented on March 13, 2026, during a colourful ceremony held at the International Conference Centre Awka, which drew prominent leaders and stakeholders from across the country.
Among the dignitaries who attended the event were the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo; the Obi of Onitsha, Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe; renowned industrialist Cletus Ibeto; and former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka.
The ceremony also attracted top government officials, captains of industry, traditional rulers, media professionals and members of the public relations community.
The Life Reputation Award, according to the institute, is one of its prestigious honours reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to professionalism, integrity and excellence in public communication and reputation management.
In recognising SP Ikenga, the institute highlighted his role in strengthening strategic communication within the police in Anambra State through effective information management, proactive media engagement and initiatives aimed at building public trust in law enforcement.
NIPR noted that his approach to timely dissemination of information and transparent communication has helped improve public understanding of policing operations while fostering constructive dialogue between the police and the communities they serve.
The ceremony also celebrated other individuals and institutions recognised for promoting ethical communication, positive reputation management and impactful leadership in their respective fields.
Dignitaries at the event commended the award recipients for their contributions to national development and urged them to continue upholding the values of professionalism, integrity and service to society.
