The Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has declared unwavering support for Governor Peter Mbah ahead of the Enugu West Mega Rally, describing the event as a major mobilisation platform for the 2027 political cycle.
In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Okolo formally welcomed the governor to Awgu, where the rally is scheduled to hold at the council headquarters.
He described Mbah as a transformational leader whose administration has reshaped governance across Enugu State through bold reforms and strategic development initiatives.
Okolo highlighted the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and grassroots development, noting that the administration has significantly driven human capital growth and economic expansion.
Describing Mbah as “Godsent,” the chairman said the people of Awgu and the wider Enugu West zone are firmly committed to supporting continuity beyond 2027.
According to him, the rally will not only celebrate the administration’s milestones but also serve as a springboard for grassroots mobilisation across the senatorial district.
“Awgu did it before, and we are poised to do it even more and better come 2027,” the statement read.
In a symbolic gesture, Okolo referred to Awgu as the governor’s “second home,” assuring him of overwhelming support and a warm reception.
The Enugu West Mega Rally is expected to attract party stakeholders, youth groups, and residents from across the zone, marking a significant moment in the early build-up to the 2027 governorship contest.
