The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a fresh timetable for its 2027 general election activities, marking the third adjustment to its primary election schedule amid ongoing preparations for the polls.
In the revised schedule signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the ruling party outlined a detailed lineup of activities spanning the sale of forms, screening of aspirants, primaries, and appeals across all elective positions.
The document stated that the timetable aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the schedule, the sale of nomination forms commenced on May 6, 2026, while submission of completed forms closed on May 7, 2026. Screening of aspirants is slated to run from May 8 to May 12, with results to be published on May 13.
Primary elections are spread across multiple dates, beginning with the House of Representatives on May 15, followed by the Senate on May 18, State Houses of Assembly on May 20, governorship primaries on May 21, and the presidential primary on May 23, 2026.
Appeals arising from the primaries are expected to be concluded between May 18 and May 25, depending on the category of election.
Speaking through the statement, Argungu emphasized that the revised timetable reflects the party’s commitment to due process and internal democracy.
“In accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and INEC’s revised timetable, the APC hereby releases its revised Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Elections,” he stated.
The party also announced the cost of nomination forms, pegging the presidential form at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦6 million.
It added that female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities would receive concessions, paying only for the expression of interest forms and 50 percent of the nomination fees.
The APC urged all aspirants and stakeholders to adhere strictly to the revised schedule, noting that all payments must be made through designated party bank accounts.
The latest adjustment comes amid heightened political activity within the ruling party, as it continues to fine-tune its internal processes ahead of the 2027 elections.
