Incumbent member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, Chimaobi Sam Atu, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 House of Representatives election after defeating his challenger in the party’s primary election held in Enugu.
The primary election, conducted in the 26 electoral wards in the Constituency saw thousands of APC members participate across Enugu North and Enugu South local government areas.
A total of 30,779 votes were cast from the 52,850 registered APC members in the constituency.
Announcing the results, the party’s returning officer, Dr Ekwe Okwudiri, declared that Atu polled 30,396 votes to defeat Hon. Ajuluchukwu Ozor Eze, who secured 383 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Atu thanked party leaders, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, describing the endorsement as a call to greater service.
He pledged to continue prioritising legislative representation, empowerment programmes, youth engagement and community development across the constituency.

The lawmaker also assured party faithful that he would continue working closely with stakeholders to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atu further praised the leadership styles of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Mbah, saying both leaders had established a standard for governance and party administration.
