The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a fresh list of senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in its primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, with several prominent politicians, including serving senators, affected.

The list, released by the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, showed that a total of 47 aspirants across various states failed to secure clearance for the APC senatorial primaries.

Among the high-profile names on the list are  senators Ben Murray-Bruce, Benson Agadaga, Garba Musa Maidoki and Ipalibo Banigo.

Also screened out were former Rivers State government officials linked to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, including Tamunobaabo Danagogo and businessman Jack-Rich Tein.

The party equally denied clearance to several aspirants from Adamawa, Cross River, Delta, FCT, Jigawa, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara states.

According to the documents released by the party, those not cleared include Hon. Hamish Idris and Hon. Abdurman Kwacham from Adamawa North; Chimzobam Kingsley Nnalue from Anambra North; Donald Daunemigita from Bayelsa West; Daniel Effiong Asuquo from Cross River South; and Dr. Marian Nnamaka Ogoh-Ali from Delta North.

Others affected are Senator Usman J. Wowo and Abubakar Umar Abdullahi from the FCT; Adam Mouktar Mohammed from Jigawa South/West; and several aspirants from Kwara South and Oyo Central, North and South Senatorial Districts.

In Rivers State, Ojukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein and Senator Banigo Ipalibo were all listed as “not cleared” for Rivers West Senatorial District, while Chief Barry Balera Mwara was screened out from Rivers South-East.

The party also screened out multiple aspirants from Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger and Zamfara states.

The APC documents simply marked the affected aspirants with the remark: “Not Cleared.”

The development comes amid heightened political realignments and intense competition ahead of the APC senatorial primaries scheduled to hold nationwide.
