President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday formally inaugurated two new members of the Federal Executive Council, swearing in Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The brief ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in the presence of the ministers’ spouses, senior government officials, and top aides of the administration.
The appointments followed the resignations of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Senate had cleared the two nominees on May 6, paving the way for their formal inauguration.
Tegbe, an accomplished policy and economic reform expert from Ibadan, Oyo State, brings more than three decades of experience in public and private sector governance, fiscal reforms, institutional development, and stakeholder engagement.
A First Class Civil Engineering graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, he also holds advanced degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration from institutions in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Before his appointment, Tegbe served as a Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he spearheaded several transformational reforms and advised governments and major institutions on fiscal restructuring, economic policy, and public sector modernization.
His professional portfolio includes engagements with key organizations such as the Nigerian Communications Commission, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Shell, Huawei, General Electric and MTN.
The new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Enikanolaiye, is a veteran diplomat and former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with an extensive record of service spanning 35 years.
A native of Igbagun in Kogi State, he graduated with First Class honours in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University and later earned a distinction in International Law and Diplomacy from University of Lagos.

Throughout his diplomatic career, Enikanolaiye represented Nigeria in several strategic missions, including postings in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the United Kingdom and India, where he served as Nigeria’s Head of Mission in New Delhi.
He also served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before retiring from the civil service in 2017 and was, until his latest appointment, Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
The diplomat is a recipient of several national honours and merit awards, including the Presidential Civil Service Merit Award and the Presidential Distinguished Public Service Career Award.
The inauguration of the two ministers comes as the Tinubu administration continues efforts to strengthen governance and accelerate implementation of key policies under its Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the critical power and foreign affairs sectors.
