The Enugu State Government has completed the fifth batch of its Civil Servants Digital Literacy Programme, taking the number of public servants trained under the initiative to more than 15,000.
The programme is part of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration’s broader strategy to build a digitally skilled and more productive civil service capable of supporting the state’s ambition of achieving a $30 billion economy by 2031.
Through the programme, participants are receiving practical training in computer proficiency, digital documentation, spreadsheets and data management, presentations, online collaboration and cybersecurity awareness.
The initiative is designed to equip civil servants with the skills required to work more efficiently, make better use of data, reduce dependence on paper-based processes and improve the delivery of public services.
The state government said the investment in digital skills forms part of Governor Mbah’s broader transformation agenda, which places emphasis not only on physical infrastructure but also on strengthening the people and institutions needed to sustain the state’s development.
Under the programme, five batches have now been completed, with more than 15,000 civil servants trained as the state continues its push towards a digitally enabled public sector.

The government said the programme reflects the administration’s commitment to building a smarter, faster and more productive civil service capable of meeting the demands of a modern economy.
As the state pursues its $30 billion economic target, the administration is positioning digital capacity within the civil service as a critical component of its strategy to improve governance and accelerate development.
