Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains politically unbeatable ahead of the 2027 general election, insisting that neither the opposition nor any individual has the capacity to challenge the President’s re-election bid.
The former Abia State governor made the declaration on Saturday during a meeting with members of his political structures—the OUK Movement and Reality Organisation—as well as stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his hometown of Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
Kalu said the ruling APC currently enjoys overwhelming political dominance, arguing that the opposition remains too divided to pose any serious threat in the next presidential election.
“I can assure you, just like President Tinubu has no competitor in 2027, APC as a party has no challenge. The opposition in the country is in tatters, they are yet to put their houses in order and do not have the capacity to challenge APC.
“Tinubu is what a good leader should be, he is not afraid of taking decisions, even at the cost of losing election, he is taking hard decisions for the interest of the country.
“The President’s economic policies may not have taken Nigeria to where it should be, but we are getting there. It is true we are still battling with the micro economy, but the macro economy is doing well,” Kalu said.
The senator also defended his performance in the National Assembly, maintaining that he had delivered on the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Abia North through constituency projects and infrastructure development.
According to him, his district ranks among the best in the country in attracting federal projects, citing the rehabilitation of major roads, reconstruction of schools, and the distribution of uniforms and textbooks to pupils across the constituency.
“I must say that I have been representing my people well as there is no Senate constituency that is better than Abia North in terms of attraction of projects and I know my people will return me to the Senate,” he stated.
Kalu expressed confidence that he would secure another term in the Senate, while predicting that the APC would emerge victorious in Abia State and deliver the state to President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He, however, urged leaders of the APC in Abia to manage the party with fairness and maturity, warning against actions capable of creating divisions within its ranks.
The former governor explained that he invited party members to the meeting as part of efforts to strengthen unity and consolidate the APC ahead of future elections.
Also speaking, former APC governorship aspirant in Abia State, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, appealed to party members to remain united, saying cohesion within the party would be crucial to its success in 2027.
He disclosed that he stepped down during the party’s governorship primary last month in the interest of unity and called on members to work collectively for the re-election of President Tinubu and the victory of all APC candidates in the state.
Other stakeholders, including Chiefs George Nnanna Kalu and Uche Ogboso, praised Senator Kalu’s representation of Abia North, describing it as impactful, and pledged their support for his re-election bid.
