The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended its visa processing partnership with Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), directing all visa applicants in the United States to submit their applications directly through Nigerian diplomatic missions until further notice.

The development was announced in a public notice issued on July 9, 2026, in which the Service confirmed the immediate disengagement of OIS Services as the operator responsible for receiving and submitting Nigerian visa applications in the United States.

Following the decision, prospective travellers and Nigerians resident in the U.S. seeking entry visas into Nigeria have been instructed to file their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the Nigerian Consulates in New York and Atlanta, pending further directives.

The NIS assured applicants that the affected diplomatic missions have made adequate arrangements to ensure that visa applications, processing and issuance continue without disruption despite the transition.

The Service also urged applicants to rely only on its official communication channels and those of the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures and other related information.

The notice, signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to efficient service delivery and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of applicants during the transition period.
