Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic (Greece), Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, CON, has taken another diplomatic step towards strengthening relations between Nigeria and Greece by formally presenting the Copies of his Letters of Credence to the Greek government.
Ugwuanyi presented the diplomatic documents on Monday, July 27, 2026, during a meeting with the Chief of Protocol of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dimitrios Zevelakis, in Athens.
The presentation of the Copies of Letters of Credence is a key diplomatic procedure that precedes the formal presentation of Letters of Credence to the Head of State, officially enabling an ambassador to commence diplomatic engagements in the host country.
According to a statement from the ambassador’s office, the meeting reaffirmed the longstanding cordial relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Hellenic Republic, with both countries expressing a shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and strengthening their enduring friendship.
The statement noted that the engagement underscored the mutual resolve of Nigeria and Greece to expand collaboration in areas of common interest while advancing stronger diplomatic ties between both nations.
Ugwuanyi’s presentation of the diplomatic credentials marks another milestone in his assignment as Nigeria’s envoy to Greece, as he begins efforts to further promote the country’s foreign policy objectives and enhance relations with the European nation.
