Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Osita Ngwu, has pledged to sponsor a First-Class Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Mr. Joseph Chidubem Igwenagu, through his postgraduate studies up to PhD level.
The lawmaker made the announcement on Tuesday in a statement shared on his official Facebook page, congratulating the Imezi Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area-born graduate on his outstanding academic achievement.
Ngwu disclosed that he had supported Igwenagu’s education from his third year until graduation, describing the First-Class honours as a testament to the value of investing in young people.
“Today, I congratulate Mr. Joseph Chidubem Igwenagu from Imezi Ọwa, Ezeagu LGA, Enugu State, on graduating with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN),” the senator said.
“I had the privilege of supporting his education from his third year to his 5th year, and his success reflects the power of investing in young people.”
Reaffirming his commitment to educational advancement, Ngwu announced that his scholarship support for the young graduate would continue beyond undergraduate studies.
“This achievement strengthens my commitment to our ‘Leave No Child Behind’ vision. I will continue to support him through his Master’s and, God willing, his PhD,” he stated.
The senator also urged students enrolled in the Enugu West Academy to draw inspiration from Igwenagu’s success, encouraging them to remain focused on their academic pursuits.
“To students of the Enugu West Academy, let his journey inspire you—stay focused, work hard, and pursue excellence,” he said.
Congratulating the graduate once again, Ngwu described the achievement as a victory not only for Igwenagu and his family but also for the broader vision of ensuring that talented young people are given the opportunity to excel regardless of their background.
