Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, , has said concerns raised by some state governors over his safety and the reported refusal of some universities to host him will not deter his engagements across the country, insisting that every Nigerian has the right to move freely.
Obi made the declaration while reacting to what he described as attempts to limit his activities in parts of the country.
According to him, some governors have indicated that they could not guarantee his safety during visits to their states, while some tertiary institutions have also declined to host him.
“It is unfortunate that some governors say they cannot guarantee my safety, and some universities have shut their doors to me,” Obi said.
Despite the developments, the former Anambra State governor maintained that he would not be discouraged from continuing his engagements with Nigerians.
“But none of this will deter me,” he stated.
Obi stressed that no individual or group should be prevented from participating in national affairs or engaging with citizens across the country.
“This nation belongs to all of us,” he added.
He maintained that the challenges he highlighted would not alter his resolve, reiterating his commitment to engaging with Nigerians wherever the opportunity arises.
