Three children have been found dead at the residence of a suspected female native doctor in Ideani Community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, in a disturbing incident that has triggered a police investigation.
The victims, believed to be between six and 15 years old, were discovered inside the woman’s compound under circumstances that remain unclear.
A fourth person found alive at the premises was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical evaluation, while the bodies of the deceased children have been deposited in a mortuary.
The identities of the victims have yet to be confirmed.
Community sources said it was not immediately clear whether the children were biological relatives of the suspect or individuals working at the residence. The woman was also said to be involved in livestock farming.
Following the discovery, police arrested the suspect, whose identity has not been made public. She is currently being held at the Ogidi Police Division in Idemili North Local Government Area as investigations continue.
A video circulating on social media showed security operatives at the residence during the operation, while the suspect was seen being escorted away by police officers.
The Anambra State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
Authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations progress.
