The Enugu MSME & Startup Agency has opened applications for the Enugu Green Tech Training Accelerator (EGTTA), a four-month practical skills programme designed to equip young people with hands-on expertise in emerging green technology industries.
The agency, in a statement issued on Thursday, August 13, 2026, said the programme is being implemented in partnership with Greenage Talent Hub and Capitis Global Ventures Limited as part of efforts to prepare residents for emerging opportunities in the global green economy.
According to the agency, millions of jobs are being created globally in areas such as solar energy, electric vehicles, automation and other green technologies, while Africa’s green economy is still at an early stage of development.
It said the global green technology market is projected to approach US$80 billion by 2030, while Nigeria has identified more than US$23 billion in energy-transition investment opportunities, with the potential to create up to 340,000 jobs within the same period.
The agency said EGTTA was designed to position participants to take advantage of the emerging opportunities by providing practical, industry-focused training in four areas: Solar Technology; Electric Vehicle (EV) Diagnostics; Robotics and IoT Electronics; and Computer Engineering.
Participants will receive a 75 per cent discount on training fees, with the programme designed to provide skills that can help beneficiaries secure employment, work as freelancers or establish their own businesses.
The agency urged interested applicants to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing that acquiring relevant technical skills would be critical as technology continues to reshape the global labour market.
It said the programme reflects Enugu State’s broader commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, digital skills acquisition, innovation and youth participation in emerging sectors of the economy.
