The All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy Governorship Candidate in the Osun State governorship election, Engr. Kayode Adereti, narrowly won his polling unit, defeating the Accord Party candidate by just six votes.
Adereti polled 132 votes at Ward 03, Unit 011, Ilare, in Ife Central Local Government Area, while the Accord Party secured 126 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 11 votes at the polling unit.
The result showed a tightly contested race between the APC and Accord, with Adereti emerging victorious by a slim six-vote margin.
A total of 282 votes were cast at the polling unit, while nine ballots were rejected as invalid.
The narrow victory came at the polling unit where Adereti himself cast his ballot, underscoring the closely fought nature of the contest between the APC and Accord in the area.
