A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, Dr Dipo Awojide, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and his supporters, as the incumbent maintains a clear lead after the completion of result collation at the various Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Awojide, a member of the Diaspora Committee and Media & Publicity Committee of the Osun State APC 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council, made the remarks in a post on his X account on Sunday.
Although the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had yet to officially announce the final result or declare a winner as of the time of filing this report, collation of results had been completed at the various LGAs, with Adeleke maintaining a clear lead over his major challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
In his message, Awojide congratulated Adeleke and his supporters while commending Oyebamiji for what he described as an excellent campaign.
“Congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke and his supporters on his reelection. Kudos to Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji for running such an excellent campaign.”
Reflecting on the APC’s campaign, Awojide said the party’s campaign council worked vigorously for 10 months to execute the assignment given to it.
“We led a vibrant and terrific campaign team for 10 months. We did the assignment given to us by the party excellently. I am proud of our contribution. I thank the entire team immensely.”
He acknowledged the role of voters in determining the outcome, stressing that the people of Osun had expressed their choice through their ballots.
“In the end, Osun people spoke with their votes. The votes counted and Osun won.”
Awojide then congratulated Adeleke’s supporters while describing the APC as the opposition following the apparent outcome of the election.
“Once again, congratulations to the wining team and kudos to us, the opposition.”
His statement represents a notable acknowledgement from within the APC campaign structure, even as the electoral process remains subject to INEC’s formal declaration.
INEC’s official announcement and declaration is still expected.
