Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has assured residents that his administration will extend its development projects to every part of the state, urging citizens not to lose hope despite areas yet to feel the impact of ongoing interventions.
Otti gave the assurance on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Amaku Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, during the traditional marriage ceremony of Oluomachi Faith Nwaobia and Chinemerem Jude Emeanaa, daughter of the Archbishop of Aba Ngwa Province of the Anglican Church, Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia.
The governor, who congratulated the couple and prayed for God’s blessings on their union, said the development witnessed across Abia in the past three years and few months of his administration was only the beginning of his government’s plans for the state.
“This is just the beginning. This place has to be a different place, and the dignity of our people will be restored,” Otti said.
He acknowledged that his administration had yet to reach every community but assured residents that ongoing projects and interventions would eventually extend across the state.
“We are in the process. We are not there yet. But we’ve just done 3 years and a few months. By the time we do 8 years and then bring someone who is better than us, because anybody succeeding me must be better.
“So, you can imagine what Abia will look like, and it is possible. So, let us not lose hope. We’ve not touched everywhere, but we are in the process; we will get to everywhere,” the governor assured.
Otti said his administration was committed to restoring the dignity of Abians and laying a foundation that would enable the state to experience sustained development beyond his tenure.
He also thanked Archbishop Nwaobia for his support throughout his political journey, describing him as a man of conviction who remained supportive even when doing so was difficult.
“We could have struggled without success, but because there were men and women of God like Archbishop Nwaobia who prayed consistently, the struggle succeeded and the State is getting better,” Otti said.
The governor also advised the newly married couple to approach disagreements with understanding and commitment, noting that no marriage is perfect.
He prayed for the couple to receive the grace and strength required to sustain their union.
In his remarks, Archbishop Nwaobia thanked Otti for honouring the invitation and recalled his first meeting with the governor in 2012 during the opening of the Owerrinta branch of Diamond Bank.
He said they met again during a presentation on strategies for repositioning Abia, adding that he was inspired by Otti’s vision for the state and subsequently committed himself to supporting it.
The Archbishop expressed gratitude that Otti was now implementing policies and programmes aimed at improving the state, and prayed for divine guidance, good health and grace for the governor to successfully accomplish his mandate.

Ginger Onwusibe, member representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency; Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa; Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Abia Central, Senator Darlington Nwokocha; Hon. Roland Chinwendu, representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency; and Hon. Aaron Uzodike, representing Aba North State Constituency, among others.
