The Ụmụada Awgu Progressive Association has commended Mr. Peter Eze, the Honourable Commissioner representing Enugu State in the Federal Character Commission, for sponsoring one of its members, Sister Jennifer Ndubuisi of Amoli, Awgu, on an all-expenses-paid trip to China to participate in a seminar.

In a statement signed by its Founder and Global President, Dr. Chinemerem Mary Anyi, the association described the gesture as a remarkable demonstration of opportunity, inclusion and empowerment.

“When one person opens a door of opportunity, an entire community walks through it,” the association said, stressing that the gesture went beyond sponsoring an international trip.

According to the group, the opportunity would expose Ndubuisi to new knowledge, networks, experiences and possibilities beyond her immediate environment.

“For us, this is not merely about a trip to China. It is about opening doors, creating exposure, expanding horizons and giving an individual the opportunity to learn, connect and experience possibilities beyond her immediate environment,” it said.

The association expressed particular pride in Ndubuisi’s selection, describing her journey as one that represents the aspirations of the entire Awgu community.

“Her journey to China is, in many ways, a journey for all of us. When one of our daughters crosses borders to acquire knowledge, build networks and gain new perspectives, our community crosses those borders with her,” the statement said.

The group also praised Eze for what it described as his commitment to using his position and influence to create opportunities for others.

“Mr. Peter Eze has demonstrated through this gesture that leadership is not only about occupying a position; it is about using one’s position to create possibilities for others,” it said.

Ụmụada Awgu expressed optimism about building stronger relationships and collaborations with Eze, particularly in areas including youth development, women’s empowerment, education, skills acquisition, international exposure, employment opportunities and community advancement.

“We believe this is only the beginning,” the association said.

The group also publicly declared its support for Eze, saying, “Dear Mr. Peter Eze, please know that Ụmụada Awgu is rooting for you. We are cheering you on. We are celebrating you. We are chanting your praises.”

It added that the association would continue to acknowledge individuals who use their opportunities to positively affect the lives of others.

“Because we believe that people who use their opportunities to create opportunities for others deserve to be acknowledged,” it said.

The association further prayed for wisdom, strength and greater opportunities for Eze as he continues his public service and leadership journey.

“May every door you open for others become another door opened for you. May every life you touch become a testimony. May your influence continue to produce positive impact,” it said.

The group also urged Ndubuisi to make the most of the opportunity and return with knowledge and connections that could benefit her community.

“Go and represent us well. Go, learn. Go, connect. Go, explore. Go and bring back knowledge, opportunities and new possibilities,” the statement said.

“Your journey is not yours alone. You carry the prayers, hopes and pride of your people with you.”

Concluding its message, Ụmụada Awgu again thanked Eze for the sponsorship, saying: “Thank you for creating a pathway where there could have been a wall. Thank you for turning opportunity into impact. Thank you for empowering one of our own.”

The association said it remained “grateful,” “proud” and “rooting” for Eze, expressing hope that the gesture would mark the beginning of more initiatives focused on opportunity, empowerment and community transformation.

The statement was signed by Dr. Chinemerem Mary Anyi, Founder and Global President of the Ụmụada Awgu Progressive Association.
