The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports that it has withdrawn the list of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the reports as mere rumours.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, following reports that the APC had withdrawn the campaign council list released as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with TheCable, Morka said the party had not announced any withdrawal of the list and would formally communicate any changes if necessary.
“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” Morka said.
The clarification came amid growing reactions to the composition of the campaign council, which was recently unveiled by the ruling party ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.
The list had generated controversy within political circles, with questions raised over the inclusion and exclusion of some prominent party members and political figures.
The controversy subsequently triggered speculation that the APC might be reconsidering the composition of the campaign structure.
However, Morka’s statement appears to have put the speculation to rest, at least for now, with the party insisting that there has been no official withdrawal of the list.
The spokesman maintained that should the party decide to alter the composition of the council, the development would be formally announced through the appropriate channels.
