Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai, has commended Hon. Ifeanyi Nnamani for his consistency and contribution to public service, while highlighting the achievements of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.

Ossai made the remarks when he received a delegation of the Ifeanyichukwu Campaign Organisation (ICO), led by its Director-General, Chief Chuks Nneji, during a courtesy visit as part of the organisation’s ongoing political consultations ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The Deputy Governor commended Nnamani for what he described as his vision, consistency and commitment to public service, particularly his role in communicating the programmes, policies and achievements of the Mbah administration to the people.

Ossai also praised Nnamani’s ability to build bridges, resolve differences and strengthen relationships across communities, describing such qualities as essential to effective leadership in contemporary Enugu.

He expressed confidence that Nnamani’s aspiration to represent Nkanu West in the Enugu State House of Assembly would bring renewed energy, effective representation and a stronger sense of responsibility to the constituency.

The meeting also centred on youth participation in politics and governance, with Ossai commending Enugu youths for their support, maturity and decorum throughout the ongoing political process.

He urged young people to remain peaceful, engaged and purposeful in exercising their civic responsibilities, stressing the importance of their participation in shaping the political future of the state.

Ossai further outlined what he described as key achievements and development initiatives of the Mbah administration, saying the government’s agenda was focused on transforming Enugu into a more prosperous, functional and economically vibrant state.

According to him, the administration’s record and future plans provide the electorate with a basis for making informed political choices.

The Deputy Governor therefore urged political stakeholders and supporters to take the government’s message of development to the grassroots and explain the importance of continuity in sustaining ongoing projects and delivering further dividends of democracy.

Nnamani Reaffirms Support for Mbah

Responding, Nnamani thanked Ossai for the warm reception and reaffirmed his support for Governor Mbah’s leadership and development agenda.

Nnamani particularly commended the governor’s youth-focused approach to governance, saying it had helped restore confidence among young people and created opportunities for greater participation in public affairs.

He appealed to Ossai to convey his appreciation and warm regards to Mbah for the confidence reposed in him and for creating what he described as a platform where young people could increasingly participate actively in governance rather than remain spectators.

Nnamani maintained that the achievements of the Mbah administration were evident and constituted a strong foundation for further development.

He assured the Deputy Governor that the ICO would sustain its grassroots engagements, particularly among youths, by mobilising and encouraging them to participate actively in the democratic process and support policies that deliver tangible benefits to citizens.

The engagement also reinforced the ICO’s emphasis on leadership preparation, service, character, vision and commitment to the people, with the organisation maintaining that leadership begins long before an individual assumes political office.

The campaign organisation said its ongoing consultations were designed not only to mobilise political support but also to strengthen relationships, listen to stakeholders and promote greater youth inclusion in the political process.

It reaffirmed its commitment to taking its message of service, inclusion and good governance to communities across Enugu State as political activities ahead of the forthcoming elections gather momentum.
