Three entrepreneurs have received a combined ₦4.5 million in business support grants at the maiden edition of the Enugu SME Bootcamp, an initiative designed to strengthen businesses and expand opportunities for entrepreneurs in Enugu State.
The Managing Director of the Enugu MSME and Startup Agency (Enugu SME Center), Arinze Chilo-Offiah, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, following the conclusion of the bootcamp organised by the agency in partnership with 234Finance.
Chilo-Offiah said the programme brought together promising entrepreneurs from across the state for intensive sessions focused on business development, mentorship, pitching and access to finance.
According to him, the grants awarded to the three outstanding participants were intended to provide them with additional support to strengthen their operations and scale their businesses.
The Enugu SME Center MD said the initiative was part of the state government’s efforts to create an enabling environment where entrepreneurs could develop sustainable businesses and contribute to employment and economic growth.
He said the programme reflected Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and supporting micro, small and medium enterprises to move from ideas and early-stage businesses to sustainable enterprises.
“This is what it means to move beyond promises — creating real opportunities, backing our entrepreneurs and turning ideas into thriving businesses,” Chilo-Offiah said.
He added that the bootcamp demonstrated the administration’s broader focus on building an economy where entrepreneurs are empowered, businesses can scale and enterprise translates into sustainable jobs and economic opportunities.
The Enugu SME Center described the intervention as part of its efforts to “empower entrepreneurs, build businesses and create impact” across the state.
