The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Nkanu West Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnamani, has challenged Princess Ada Ogbu to provide evidence for her allegation that Governor Peter Mbah ordered a private event centre to deny her team access for a town-hall meeting or withdraw the claim.

Nnamani, in a statement reacting to the controversy in Enugu, described the allegation as serious and accused those making it of risking the spread of misinformation without verifiable evidence.

“The claim that His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, ordered a private event centre to deny access to its facility is a serious allegation,” Nnamani stated.

He insisted that the decision of a privately owned facility should not be attributed to the governor without clear evidence linking him to it.

“If Princess Ada Ogbu made this claim, she should be prepared to substantiate it. Political competition does not give anyone the right to attribute fictitious actions to the Governor,” he said.

The APC candidate warned that stakeholders would challenge unverified claims capable of creating what he described as a false impression of Mbah and his administration.

He, however, acknowledged that opposition figures and other political actors had the right to criticise the governor’s policies, disagree with his administration and campaign against him, stressing that political competition should be based on facts.

“Enugu deserves political debate grounded in facts, not narratives built on assumptions,” Nnamani said.

“Let the evidence come forward or let the allegation be withdrawn.”
