The leadership and some members Agbaja Youths General Assembly, AYGA, today, Wednesday, visited Enugu State deputy Governor, Lolo, Cecilia Obioma Ezeilo, in her office at Enugu state government house.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the president, Comr. Ebube Nebo told the deputy Governor they are in her office to inform her (as their mother) about their forthcoming ‘youth summit.’

He informed the Deputy Governor that they had a similar summit last year which centered on Education but in their bid to address the rising security situation in the society, they will be talking about security in this year’s summit.

He also informed her that the summit is in partnership with the Police under Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) and the National Coordinator of the campaign, SP, Ebere Amaraizu will be the keynote speaker.

Also speaking, the Treasurer of the group, Comr. Ozoagu Chibuike thanked the deputy Governor and extolled her exemplary leadership and lifestyle which predates her position as Deputy Governor and assured her they will live up to expectations and not bring shame to them.

In her response, the Deputy Governor, while thanking them for the visit assured them he will do all within her power to assist them in the summit.

According to her; “This is the right time to have an organization like this to harmonize the position of the youths and going by the security situation in the country, the summit is very timely.”

She went on to challenge the youths to be good ambassadors as security is in their hands.

“Security is in the hands of the youths and the Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi had done a lot to improve the security situation of the state ranging from the employment of forest guards, payment of vigilantes and provision of operational vehicles for security operatives.

“I appreciate this move of the youths,” she said.

She also enjoined the association to devise a means of using the organization and their forthcoming summit to address the security situation in the state and also ensure they are sincere in their dealings with one another.
