The Enugu State All Progressives Congress, APC seems to be having a fields day in their ungoing Membership Registration and revalidation exercise as more members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, in the state is ditching their party to join them (APC).

The newest entrant into APC is a former Secretary to the State Government, former Head of Service and former Commissioner for Education in Enugu state, Chief Clement Okwor.

Chief Okwor officially dumped the PDP for the APC at his polling unit, Akpoga Town Hall, Mbulujodo East Ward 19, Enugu East local government area on Friday, 26th February, 2021.

The Enugu State Chairman of the APC, Dr Ben Nwoye said the decamping of the renowned technocrat into their party signals “final finishing of the APC in Enugu state.

Dr. Nwoye said the membership registration and revalidation exercise have enabled the party to position itself better as 2023 general election draws closer.

Welcoming the new entrant and his supporters, the chairman of Enugu National registration Committee, Senator Jonathan Zwingina thanked chief Okwor for his demonstration of seriousness by joining the party with his immediate family and his supporters unlike what other politicians do.

He also who expressed happiness over the registration and revalidation process saying: “The influx of people into the APC is more than we thought. The materials at various polling units have been exhausted because people are trooping in.”

He urged the State caretaker Chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye to maintain the peace that has been restored in the party after the Stake-holders meeting. He also encouraged Igbos to use the registration exercise to demonstrate their seriousness for the Presidency in 2023.

In his speech, the member representing the South East in the Nation Caretaker Committee and former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani also thanked Chief Okwor for the political courage he has displayed, defining him as a “silent achiever that gives in his all in any process he’s part of.”

In his address, Chief Okwor said he “feel elated” because he’s “in a party that’s organised, a party with the political will to do good.

” I’m in a party that’s there to change things that have gone wrong in Nigeria, though, it may be difficult now, but with time, they will get it right.”

Chief Okwor joined the party with his son, Engr. Oluchukwu Okwor and his numerous supporters and promised to do more to ensure that the fortune of the party continue to move in the positive direction.
