Rev. Emeka Merenu, a priest of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), has been murdered by inknown gunmen.
The clergy was killed in his parsonage at Iheteukwa, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to TVC New, the unfortunate incident has been confirmed by the member representing Nkwere State constituency, Obinna Okwara who said the Rev Emeka Merenu was killed on an unfounded allegation that he brought in military men to secure his church and secondary school under his supervision.
The lawmaker added that the gunmen also set the vehicle of the slain Priest ablaze.
Rev Emeka Merenu hails from Amorji Agbomori Village in Nkwerre.
All efforts to reach the police spokesperson in the state, Micheal Abattam for confirmation proved abortive as he did not take or return call.
