The naira at the end of trading on Monday, May 19, 2025, consolidated on its positive rally against the United States dollars.
According to the data published on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official website, the naira exchanged at N1,598.6885 per dollar on the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
This is very close to the value the local currency ended the week on Friday when it exchanged for N1,598.7210 for one dollar. This signifies that between Friday and Monday, the naira gained N0.0325.
The story was also positive at the parallel foreign exchange market as the Nigerian currency dropped by N5 against the dollar.
Bureau de Change operators in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, said the local currency strengthened to N1620 per dollar on Monday from N1625 exchanged on Wednesday.
