Actor and political commentator Yul Edochie has declared that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi cannot become Nigeria’s president “now,” insisting that any political party the former Anambra governor joins would eventually fall apart.

Edochie made the remarks on Tuesday in a post shared on his X account, where he dismissed Obi’s reported political moves with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the effort as futile.

“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time,” Edochie wrote.

He further suggested that Obi’s political challenges go beyond ordinary strategy or structure, insisting that the problem was much deeper.

“It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it,” he stated.

Maintaining his position, the actor said the reality remained unchanged regardless of political calculations.

“But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now,” Edochie added.

The comments have since stirred fresh political reactions online, especially among supporters and critics of Obi, who remains one of Nigeria’s most discussed opposition figures ahead of the 2027 political realignments.
