Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has congratulated Bianca Ojukwu on her appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the development as well-deserved and a reflection of her distinguished career in diplomacy and public service.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu, the apex Igbo socio-cultural body commended Ojukwu’s track record, noting that her wealth of experience positions her to effectively represent Nigeria on the global stage.

The group highlighted her previous roles, including former Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Ambassador to Ghana, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, where she demonstrated “exceptional leadership, diplomacy and dedication to Nigeria’s global engagement.”

Ohanaeze also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for what it described as a thoughtful and strategic appointment.

According to the President-General of the group, Azuta Mbata, “Her Excellency Bianca Ojukwu is a worthy ambassador of Igbo land and Nigeria at large. She embodies the dignity, resilience and excellence that our people are known for. Ndigbo are deeply appreciative of the enduring legacies she continues to uphold.”

The organisation expressed confidence that Ojukwu would leverage her experience, intellect, and patriotism to advance Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and strengthen its international relations.

“We wish her great success in this new office and in her continued service to our dear country, Nigeria,” the statement added.
