The Council of Traditional Rulers in Enugu East Local Government Area has endorsed the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah for the 2027 general election and the Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, for a second term in office ahead of the 2026 local government poll.
The endorsement was announced during a visit by the royal fathers to the Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA, where they unanimously declared support for the continuation of the current administration at both the state and local government levels.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, the Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council in Enugu East LGA, HRH Igwe Dr. Emma Ugwu, said the decision was based on what he described as the impressive performance of Governor Mbah and Engr. Anike in the areas of grassroots development, infrastructure renewal, security, and community welfare.
According to him, continuity in leadership had become necessary to sustain ongoing projects and deepen collaboration between traditional institutions and government authorities.
“We are endorsing His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubusi Mbah, and Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike for a second term because of their commitment to development, peace, and good governance across Enugu East and Enugu State at large,” Igwe Ugwu stated.
He commended Governor Mbah’s developmental strides across the state, noting that traditional rulers in the area had witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure, human capital development, and engagement with local communities since the administration assumed office.
The motion endorsing the governor and the council chairman was seconded by HRH Igwe Julius Nnaji Odezuligbo III of Nike Kingdom and HRH Igwe Edwin Edeoga of Mbano Nike, who both praised the administration’s relationship with traditional institutions and its efforts toward improving the welfare of residents.
The royal fathers further expressed confidence that a second term for both leaders would ensure the completion of ongoing projects and accelerate development in the local government area.

Responding, the Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, thanked the monarchs for what he described as a vote of confidence in his administration and that of Governor Mbah.
Anike assured the traditional rulers that the state government remained committed to fulfilling its campaign promises to the people.
“As a local government, we have automated our system and connected to the gigantic powerhouse which is Governor Peter Mbah, with 100 percent commitment to replicate the governor’s mandate in Enugu East,” he said.
He also pledged continued collaboration with traditional institutions to promote peace, development, and effective governance within the council area.
