Popular Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said his achievements in the global music industry are the result of his own hard work, despite coming from one of Nigeria’s wealthiest families.
The singer, whose father is billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, stated that he has carved out a successful career and built substantial personal wealth through music, arguing that few, if any, children of billionaires have attained similar global recognition in the entertainment industry on their own merit.
Speaking on his journey, Davido maintained that his rise to international fame was driven by talent, consistency and dedication rather than his family’s financial status.
While acknowledging his privileged background, the Afrobeats star said he believes his accomplishments have set him apart, adding that he is yet to identify another billionaire’s child who has achieved comparable success and financial independence in the global entertainment scene.
