Family Joy International; a nonprofit organisation dedicated to strengthening families, empowering young people and promoting social advocacy initiatives, has commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for granting a second chance to Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko, following his release from custody.
The organisation’s Chairperson, Mrs Uzoamaka Nwokike, stated this in a statement issued on Saturday, September 19, 2026, describing Nwangwu’s release as an opportunity for him to redirect his influence towards positive social impact.
Nwokike said the organisation welcomed the opportunity for Nwangwu to use his platform to promote hard work, responsible living, digital responsibility and youth empowerment.
“We welcome the opportunity for Mr. Nwangwu to emerge as a Crusader for Digital Hygiene and an Ambassador for Hard Work, Responsible Living and Youth Empowerment,” she said.
She urged Nwangwu to embrace the new chapter with humility and responsibility, while using his influence to promote honest work, positive family values and a life free from cybercrime and other social vices threatening young people and families.
“This is more than a second chance; it is an opportunity to become an example of positive transformation,” Nwokike said.
She further urged him to protect the opportunity by inspiring young people to work hard, build legitimate businesses, use technology responsibly and contribute meaningfully to the development of Anambra State and Nigeria.
According to her, the organisation believes that society benefits when individuals given opportunities to change transform such opportunities into service, responsibility and positive impact.
“Family Joy International believes that when people are given an opportunity to change, society benefits when that opportunity is transformed into service, responsibility and positive impact,” she said.
Nwokike also expressed appreciation to Governor Soludo for the decision, saying, “Thank you Governor Soludo.”
The organisation said it has intensified its focus on digital hygiene in response to the growing exposure of children, women and families to cyber threats, including online fraud, cyberbullying, identity theft, digital exploitation and harmful online content.
