The Enugu State Government, through Enugu SME, has announced a free DHL certification programme for business owners in the state as part of efforts to equip local entrepreneurs with the skills required to access international markets.
The initiative, announced on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, is being implemented under the DHL Trade and Grow Beyond Borders programme and will provide participants with step-by-step training from certified DHL experts on cross-border trade and international shipping.
According to Enugu SME, the programme is designed to help business owners overcome common challenges associated with exporting goods, including customs clearance, shipping costs, delivery terms and international sales.
Participants will be trained on how to clear foreign customs efficiently and minimise delays that could leave their goods stranded at international borders.
The programme will also teach entrepreneurs how to properly price their products and factor shipping costs into their pricing structure without eroding their profit margins.
Enugu SME said participants would further learn how to establish clear delivery terms with overseas customers and improve their online sales and cross-border shipping processes.
“Through the DHL Trade and Grow Beyond Borders programme, you will get step-by-step training directly from certified DHL experts,” Enugu SME said.
The organisation added that successful participants would receive an official DHL certificate, which could help strengthen their credibility and build trust with international customers.
The programme is targeted at eligible business owners seeking to expand beyond the Nigerian market and develop the capacity to trade effectively with customers across international borders.
