Dr. Ben Nwoye, APC Deputy National Chairman (South)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Governor Peter Mbah has earned a second term through his performance in office, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is delivering critical infrastructure projects that are transforming Enugu State and the South-East region.

The position was articulated by the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, who represented the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, at the Ofu Obi Rally organised by the people of Enugu East Senatorial District.

Addressing a large gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers, women, youths and supporters, Nwoye commended the people of Enugu State, particularly those from Enugu East Senatorial District, for their continued support for Governor Mbah and President Tinubu.

“Today’s gathering is not just a political rally. It is a celebration of vision, leadership, progress, and the collective determination of our people to move Enugu State and Nigeria forward,” he said.

The APC chieftain described Mbah as one of the country’s leading examples of transformational governance, arguing that the governor’s achievements have distinguished him as a national reference point in infrastructure and public service delivery.

“Governor Peter Mbah has become a national symbol of transformational leadership. Across Nigeria today, when discussions turn to infrastructure, innovation, economic development, education, healthcare, and security, the name Peter Mbah stands prominently among the leaders changing the narrative,” Nwoye stated.

He added that many Nigerians now regard the governor as “the poster boy of infrastructural revolution and purposeful governance,” citing the administration’s Smart Schools initiative, Type Two Primary Healthcare Centres, digital security architecture and extensive road construction programme.

According to him, the Mbah administration has demonstrated that governance should be measured by tangible outcomes rather than political rhetoric.

“What we are witnessing in Enugu today is not governance by rhetoric. It is governance by measurable results,” he said.

Nwoye also highlighted what he described as the benefits of the October 14 Movement, which marked Governor Mbah’s alignment with the APC and the progressive political family.

“The October 14 Movement marks a defining moment in the political journey of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, when he formally aligned with the progressive family and moved into the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling a new era of collaboration, development-driven politics, and strategic partnership with the Federal Government,” he said.

According to him, the political alignment has continued to yield positive outcomes for Enugu State by strengthening cooperation between the state and the Federal Government.

Nwoye pointed to the appointments of Dame Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu and Barrister Kingsley Udeh as ministers in the Tinubu administration, as well as the emergence of a son of the region as Chief of Air Staff, as evidence that the South-East is gaining greater visibility and influence at the national level.

“These appointments are not accidental. They are evidence that our people are increasingly taking their rightful place in the affairs of the nation.

“They demonstrate that engagement, partnership, and constructive participation in national politics yield results,” he stated.

The APC deputy national chairman also praised President Tinubu for ongoing federal projects in Enugu State, saying the administration was demonstrating its commitment to inclusive development.

He listed the reconstruction of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, ongoing work on Section Three of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, and plans for a major twin flyover project in Emene among strategic interventions being executed under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“These projects are not mere promises. They are visible demonstrations of a President who understands that every region of Nigeria deserves development and inclusion,” Nwoye said.

Calling on residents to sustain their support for both leaders, he maintained that political support should be based on performance and visible results.

“Support should not be based on sentiment alone. It should be based on performance.

“Support should not be based on promises alone. It should be based on results.

“Support should be based on what we can see, what we can measure, and what we can proudly point to as evidence of good governance,” he said.

Nwoye expressed confidence that continuity in both administrations would consolidate ongoing reforms and accelerate development.

“I firmly believe that Enugu State will be better off with a second term for Governor Peter Mbah.

“I firmly believe that Nigeria will be stronger, more prosperous, and more united with a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he declared.

He urged Nigerians to continue supporting leaders delivering tangible development, stressing that the gains already recorded in Enugu State and across the country should be consolidated.

“The journey of transformation has begun. The foundations have been laid. The projects are taking shape. The reforms are yielding results. What remains is for us to consolidate the gains and move forward together,” Nwoye added.
